About Us

Inkblot was created by the husband and wife team of Sam and Emily Mikaere, shortly after the birth of their first baby in 2008. They set out to bring the American tradition of sharing custom photo birth announcements with friends and relatives to New Zealand. Emily trained as a graphic artist at the University of Wisconsin, therefore they were inspired to create a website that combined unique, high-quality designs with their newly found interest in the baby market. As new parents they knew better than anyone that time is of the essence, so it was important to have a website that makes peoples lives easier and more convenient.
